About the book

As Offred navigates the cruel, surreal reality of Gilead, she clings to memories of life before - of her daughter, her partner, and her name. The Handmaid’s Tale is not just a terrifying vision of the future, but a bold reflection on the past and present. Unflinching, layered and uncomfortably plausible, it remains a powerful lens through which to view society and power today.
